A brainstorm is a structured, three-person conversation about a contested micro-topic. It's not a debate and not a chat. It's a focused exchange between people who know something — shaped by AI provocations and curated for publication.
THE THREE ROLES
the initiator: proposes the micro-topic
You name the micro-topic — a specific, contested question or tension within your field. The AI immediately generates three contentious points to anchor the conversation.
the participants: two invited colleagues
You invite two people who have informed, possibly divergent views. They receive a link and join the session directly — no account required for external guests.
the ai: stirs the pot
At moments of your choosing, the AI injects a contentious point into the conversation — a provocation designed to deepen or redirect the exchange.
THE PROCESS
- Propose a micro-topic and let the AI generate three points of contention.
- Invite two knowledgeable colleagues by name or email.
- Once all three are in the session, the conversation begins.
- Chat freely. At any point, the initiator can inject a contentious point to spark a new angle.
- Mark messages you want included in the published record.
- When the conversation feels complete, propose publication. All participants consent, then the initiator publishes.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD MICRO-TOPIC
The best micro-topics are specific and a little uncomfortable. Not "the future of nursing" but "whether bedside nurses should be required to take on charge responsibilities." Not "AI in healthcare" but "whether AI documentation tools are making nurses less safe." The more precise the tension, the richer the exchange.
